Tonight, a coup of our democracy was averted! You may be thinking that we’re talking about our nearby neighbor, the United States, and the recent invasion of the Capitol building, but in fact we are talking about the nascent government of the nation known currently as “New Roanoke”.  The interim President Schnorr and interim Secretary of State Hunt were having dinner with their family. The topic of the Constitution and upcoming ratification discussion was on the agenda.  It had been noticed that one member of the dinner party had recently stopped his vociferous complaints about the new country, and had been requesting the consideration of changes to the Constitution, “because I want to run for office” – engagement that was antithetical to previously-held statements. Suspicions had been raised earlier, bringing citizens to high alert.

At the dinner, the potential candidate, who to date has chosen not to become a citizen, was desiring to run for Secretary of State, and mentioned one of the duties was managing citizenship.  It immediately became apparent to the officers present that the plan of this operative was to become a citizen, and become elected to Secretary of State. At this point, it would be within his purview to revoke the citizenship of all citizens, which, in his view,  would effectively destroy the country.  When confronted, he admitted to the plan, adding that to enact his scheme, he was inciting other members of his Minecraft realm to also apply for citizenship and support his election to Secretary of State. This influx of voters would overwhelm the votes of invested citizens, paving the path to the dissolution of the government.

This discovery will lead to further refinements and enumerations within the proposed Constitution, to prevent further manipulation by bad actors, a consideration that had previously been tabled in the interest of lightweight governing documents.

Please be looking for draft documents and meeting information regarding the discussion and ratification of the proposed Cons.
